Hello fellow Londoners.
TRIGGER WARNING
My name is Tammy and i am the Area Coordinator for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep in the London & surrounding areas.
We need more Volunteer Photographers to capture professional, intimate black-and-white remembrance photographs for parents experiencing the tragic death of a baby.
We also capture life support removal in the NICU and funerals.
LHSC is a level 3 NICU which means we get pregnancies from as far away as Thunder Bay.
Last week, just as an example, there were 26 babies born in 1 day.
Sadly, losses do happen every single day for a variety of reasons.
I personally have captured over 100 babies in almost 7 yrs. As a loss mom myself of 3 and only 1 live birth at 28 weeks, it brings me comfort to provide this gift to families like mine.
The actual commitment time frame is not long. We get the calls via a central dispatch line, dispatcher sends out to volunteers and once accepted, sessions usually last under 30 mins.
The hours we serve families is from 7 am to 10 pm
If you do not want to or have the abilities to edit the final gallery, no worries, we have a dedicated group of digital retouch artists to do all the editing.

One last thing - Yes it is hard to witness. However, I always remind our team to remember the losses are not for us to carry. We are providing a immeasurable gift & memory for them to hold on too
