We will be honoring our community members, friends and loved ones who have gone before us with a Potluck meal and a special Prayer Night program. 🍴✝️

Cathy and Marie enjoyed an outing to Helen Schuler Nature Center in the river valley last Saturday. 🤗💖

Cathy liked the art gallery and Marie liked Davy the snake! Cathy met an old friend from Rehoboth who took their picture, and they took each other’s pictures outside: photo of Marie by Cathy and photo of Cathy by Marie! 📸☺️

🥳🎉At L'Arche, our monthly traditions bring us together in meaningful ways and we are nourished by the giving and receiving of community life. 🎉🥳

Our Thankful for 35 Years Celebration last night was a blast! We had such an incredible evening from start to finish. We enjoyed sharing delicious meals together, catching up through fun conversations, marveling at the gorgeous decorations, and feeling nostalgic over the slideshow that brought so many memories to life all the way from 1989!🍽️🎞️

The main highlight of our evening was listening to the heartfelt speeches from our special guests and Community Leader, and hearing our Core Members share their favorite items in such an interactive way. Singing our hearts out to This Little Light of Mine was a moment of pure joy that perfectly captured the spirit of L'Arche!🎶❤️

The success of our event was all due to the huge support from our community members, friends and volunteers which made our milestone anniversary to be such a beautiful, heartwarming, and deeply gratifying occasion.

Our Thankful for 35 Years Committee then would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who helped make our big celebration last night a dream come true! 🎉💛

To everyone who was there or a part of the event in any way: we want to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! 🙏✨

Reaching 35 years for L'Arche Lethbridge is such a remarkable milestone. Looking around the room at First Baptist Church last night, we felt incredibly inspired to carry on the amazing endeavor that our founders have started all those years ago. We look forward to continuing to impact more lives in a positive way and making a profound difference in this world for people both with and without intellectual disabilities for many more years to come!✨

Our hearts are heavy that two of our beloved community members and cherished friends passed away this September. 😔💔

Fr. Michael faithfully served our community for 23 years. He led beautiful and deeply nourishing Taizé prayers that brought peace, comfort, and spiritual renewal to so many of us over more than two decades. His presence and his music touched countless lives. 🎸😇

Celeste was a vibrant and generous soul who served our community in so many ways. She lent her leadership as a member of our Board of Directors, brought pure joy to everyone as our dear Mrs. Claus during our 2021 Christmas celebration, and was always a generous contributor to our community events.🤶🤗

We are deeply saddened by this immense loss and we will deeply miss them. We hold their families close in our thoughts and prayers, grieving alongside them during this difficult time.🙏💖

May they rest in peace, and may their legacies of love and service continue to inspire us all. 🤍🕊

✨NOW HIRING: Relief Team Member for a 3-Month Full-Time Contract! 🎉🥳

This role is for October to December at 40 hours per week. Applicants must have open availability (mornings, evenings, weekends), and have a valid class-5 Alberta driver's license with at least 2 years of driving history.

The Relief Team Member is employed to assist with the daily operation of the L'Arche household. They can be assigned to assist in particular tasks with Core Members or particular tasks in the home. They are expected to work within the framework of the Mission of L’Arche.

💖The successful applicant will belong to a community setting, learn new skills, and develop meaningful relationships. They will gain valuable life skills and opportunities for personal growth and leadership. More than a job, this role offers an exceptional and life changing adventure in friendship and self-discovery.💖

Today, L'Arche Lethbridge pauses in solemn remembrance to honor the survivors, the families, and the many children who never returned home from residential schools.

We wear our orange shirts in remembrance and solidarity - because Every Child Matters.

Our Assistants also gathered for a time of learning and fellowship, watching a video together to deepen our understanding of the history and ongoing significance of this day.

It was a quiet and relaxed afternoon of listening, learning, and being together in community as we continue our commitment to truth, reconciliation, and respect.

Nicole and Rey had a blast attending “Voice and Choice” at L’Arche Saskatoon a couple of weeks ago. 🎉🥰

Voice and Choice is a new L’Arche Canada program in which participants work together to build skills in leading, speaking and decision making.

It was definitely a nourishing event not only for the two of them, but also for the rest of the participants and leaders of this amazing program! Kudos everyone!🥳💖
