The Lethbridge Independent Film Society (LIFS) takes its role in this community very seriously. We believe survivors and understand the deep harm caused by sexual violence; our priority is the safety, dignity and wellbeing of our community. The individual named in recent public reports is no longer a member of LIFS’s board.

As this matter is the subject of an ongoing investigation, we cannot comment further at this time. As a Board, and as members of this community, we are committed to reviewing our policies and procedures to ensure we meet best practices for prevention, reporting and response.

Save the Date: Between Takes 🎬

Lethbridge filmmakers, actors, and creatives—mark your calendars for May 28th at The Owl Acoustic Lounge. We’re bringing the community together for screenings, intentional networking, and live music. RSVP link in comments or use the QR code.

We've got some juicy door prizes, great community and event sponsors, and a ridiculously fun evening planned with the goal to connect and energize our media creatives and the communities that support us all here in Southern Alberta.

We're inviting the filmmakers, game designers, tourism reps, hospitality reps, city officials, trades folks, post-secondaries, media clubs, media outlets, film friendly businesses and more to get connected and stitch the creative and economic fabric of our city together using the thread of film.

Entry is by donation ($10-15 suggested) but any amount is welcome. Just be sure to RSVP so we can get your networking nametag ready and wrap our heads around the numbers to make the most of our Speed Networking activity curated by Arts Marvels

Like the departure of the RMS Titanic initial voyage, we’re stepping into something new.

Starting next month, LIFS meetups move to the last Thursday of each month at The Owl Acoustic Lounge

New waters. Same unsinkable creativity.
