RA) began in 1976 when a few volunteers offered instruction in riding and horse care to students with various disabilities. Vision:

LTRA is a sustainable, charitable organization that is dedicated to discovery, inclusion, and learning by building relationships with and through horses in collaboration with our community. Values:

Learning - To teach our clients, partners, and the community about horses and their wellness benefits while elevating their spirits. Inclusion - We believe that all individuals are distinct, unique, and deserve to be treated equally and fairly. We create a welcoming environment for all and are strength based in our approach. Compassion - We believe all individuals and horses have the right to be treated in a caring manner while recognizing the importance of understanding. Confidence - We believe that our clients can become more confident in themselves and their abilities through interaction with horses. Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Drive4Dreams Charity Golf Tournament such a huge success!

We were incredibly fortunate to have perfect weather for a beautiful day of golf, community, and support for a cause that means so much to us. Preliminary estimates indicate that this year’s tournament raised close to $50,000, with net proceeds of almost $40,000!

To our Sponsors, Supporters, Volunteers, and Planning Task Force Members: thank you!!! This event only happens because of the generosity, time, energy, and heart that so many people put into it.

LTRA is busier than ever and it is your support that allows us to continue expanding our programs, maintaining a healthy and happy herd, and investing in the infrastructure needed to provide therapeutic riding and equine-assisted wellness services in our community.

We truly could not do this without you. We are feeling overwhelming gratitude for everyone who came together to make this year’s Drive4Dreams such a memorable and meaningful day.

Today, we want to recognize one of our incredible supporters!

Congratulations to and on celebrating the first anniversary of the Southland Institute of Welding at Winston Churchill High School. In just one year, more than 300 students have participated in the program—an outstanding achievement that is creating opportunities and developing valuable skills for the next generation of tradespeople!

What's even cooler? The students involved in the program chose to use their skills to give back to the community by building specialized equipment for the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association.

Their projects included:

• A custom arena maintenance attachment for our Bobcat, helping us keep a safe, level riding surface for our therapeutic riding and equine wellness programs.

• A heavy-duty netted hay feeder that allows a single staff member to safely and efficiently feed our program horse partners.

These projects will have a lasting impact on our daily operations and help us continue delivering high-quality services to participants across Southern Alberta.

Thank you to Southland Trailer Corp for your ongoing support of our organization, our community, and for mentoring the next generation of talent entering the workforce. And to the welding students at Winston Churchill High School and your awesome teacher Colton: your talent, initiative, and willingness to help others are truly inspiring. Our Summer Session Registration is Open for Therapeutic Riding🐴☀️

We still have a few spaces available in our Therapeutic Riding Program over the summer, running from July-August!

Therapeutic lessons will run on Wednesdays during the day, providing participants with the opportunity to develop confidence, balance and coordination while also building meaningful connections with our incredible horses.

Our first Horses in the Park visit of the year was a special one 🐴🤍

During this outing, we brought along Silver and Ranger — the two newest members of our LTRA herd, who handled their first public outing incredibly well! They were calm, patient, and welcoming, offering everyone who stopped by to say hello a positive and gentle experience. We couldn’t be more proud of them!

Moments like these remind us how powerful the healing presence of horses can be, and we are so grateful to walk alongside our amazing community partners in sharing that connection with others.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making today possible, and to all of the wonderful people who came over to visit with the horses. We loved seeing so many smiles and meaningful interactions throughout the afternoon! ☀️

The Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association’s annual Drive4Dreams Charity Golf Tournament is back on Monday, June 15th, 2026 at the beautiful Henderson Lake Golf Club — and we’re currently seeking both players and sponsors to help make this our biggest tournament yet!
