Today is the start of something great!

Lacombe District Beef Club members are weighing in their projects and kicking off another 4-H year!

While sale day is the highlight everyone sees, there are 226 days of animal husbandry, responsibility, record keeping, learning, and hard work that go into getting there.

These cattle are the projects, but the program is what builds the leaders! 🌟

Through 4-H, members develop life skills, confidence, accountability, and leadership that reach far beyond the show ring.

Here’s to a great year of learning, growing, and making memories! 💚💛

To all who contributed to the success of our 2026 Charity Steer Raffle in support of STARS & Anam Rural Youth Association, we offer our heartfelt thanks for your support of these deserving local causes, as well as for participating in the chance to win some exceptional 4-H Alberta Beef. We all have to start somewhere. These Juniors hit the ring with confidence. For many in this group it was a strong debut in the showring. Grateful for the support and guidance from the older, experienced members. Learn to Do by Doing!

We would like to convey our deepest appreciation to the Steer Day Lunch Sponsors, specifically Lionel & Charmin Baron, Boyd & Jared Williams and Tayor Oslowski, and CBO Earthworks. This exceptional example of community in action is a source of inspiration. Annually, Lionel's NoFrills, Williams Real Estate Team, and CBO Earthworks come together to create opportunities for community engagement, and we are grateful for the loyal support of local businesses and individuals towards our members. We hope that our members and the community will reciprocate this support by supporting these businesses.

This marks the 2nd year of the Pen of 3 Heifers project. We are pleased to have had Blake Morton and Darcy Olesky serve as adjudicators for this year's group. These gentlemen successfully narrowed down 9 pens to 2. The scoring was based on uniformity, structure, capacity, femininity and breed character, as well as condition and presentation. We extend our gratitude to Lacombe Veterinary Centre for sponsoring this class. Although only two winners can be selected, the members undoubtedly showcased their finest. 1st Aubree S 2nd Gracelyn R

Some things are worth waiting for - and this is one of them. We were fortunate to have two talented photographers capturing the moments that make Achievement Days so special. Through their lenses, we see the pride, disappointment, camaraderie, and encouragement that our members experience along the way. These photos tell the story of the hard work, growth, and memories that make 4-H such a meaningful journey.
