Introducing the Grayson Excavating Ltd. Accessible Playground! Every child deserves to play, and this playground provides that opportunity ❤️Designed with so many details in mind, some of which can go unnoticed but for us they are what help support the accessibility side of play.
This playground has been graciously sponsored by Grayson Excavating in honour of his dad Dale Gray and many other incredible donors ( which will be recognized in another post as well )
You'll have to check out the park yourself to see all the features but some key things to note here are endless opportunities for parallel play for the kids, including the ability to play grounders together.
There's a ramp that goes all the way to the middle level where they can race down the slides together from different levels, a metal slide to accommodate hearing aids, a transitional color between ramps and flat surfaces to help indicate surface/level changes for low vision and a brighter border around the playground. You will also find an accessible swing and a highly requested item- the inground merry go round and multiple spinning play choices ! We cannot forget the rubber surface from Kal Tire Replay that provides play options to choose from, from one end to the other !
We cannot wait to see everyone out and enjoying the spaces ! There was so much love, care and consideration put into these playgrounds ❤️
