A committee has been created with representation from Burman University, Parkview Adventist Academy (PAA), the Alberta Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and College Heights Christian School (CHCS). The committee is currently seeking input from all concerned stakeholders. They will hold town hall meetings to share information with attendees, glean perspectives from parents and alumni, and answer questions.

We have four inspiring individuals leaving us at the end of this academic year​ due to retirements​. We celebrated the contributions of Paul and DonnaLee Lehmann, Loma Boyd, and Wanda Johnson at our Retirement and Farewell Party last week. We wish them the​ very​ best in their future endeavours. Burman University has become a better place ​because of their contribution and service.

The Burman University Symphony Orchestra presented their Young Artist Concert last Saturday evening. This concert feature​d​ some of our local young talent with fantastic musical abilities. Thank you to Deepa, Anele, Hope, Jessica, Jennifer, and Maya for sharing their talents on our campus!​ And a special thank you to orchestra director Dr. Cristian Neascu who has given Burman University five years of excellence in orchestral conducting and music education. He will be joining the deparment of music at Walla Walla Univeristy and we wish him the very best in his new appointment. We will certainly miss his presence on our campus.​

We had our inaugural Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Weekend this past weekend. This litany performed by our students summed up what this weekend was all about. We're encouraing our campus community to keep talking about how we can make Burman a better campus, then find ways to make our dialogues a reality.

On February 3, 2018, Dr. Elmar and Mrs. Darilee Sakala joined us on campus for the opening of the Sakala Success Centre. The Centre's purpose is to provide emotional, academic, and physical support for the students, faculty, and staff of Burman University and Parkview Adventist Academy. The Sakala Success Centre is named to recognize the commitment of Elmar and Darilee Sakala to help students of Burman University and Parkview Adventist Academy reach their highest potential.

We honour Dr. Elmar and Mrs. Darilee Sakala with gratitude for making this Centre possible!
