We were incredibly honoured to accept the Friends of Wolf Creek Education Award in recognition of our School Food Basket Program.
I was especially proud to accept this award alongside Don, Jill, and Pete. Over the past several years, there have been very few Mondays when they haven’t jumped in to help deliver our school baskets. Their dedication, reliability, and care have made a meaningful difference for countless students.
A special thank you also goes to Burt, who delivered baskets for several years before passing the torch to this amazing trio. And, of course, thank you to each and every one of our incredible volunteers. This program exists because of your care and commitment.
Many mornings when I arrive at the food rescue, I find notes attached to special snacks or treats that simply say, “Save for school baskets.” Those small acts of kindness remind me every day how much our volunteers care about the children we serve.
I am truly honoured to work alongside such an amazing group of people. This award belongs to all of you.
