Today one of our amazing food rescue partners, Louise Pickett, spoiled our volunteers with a big pot of homemade veggie soup made with Echo veggies! 🥕🥔🥬

To help move things along, we’ll be putting some cucumbers outside, so you do NOT need to wait in line if cucumbers are all you’re coming for today. Just stop by and grab what you can use!

We still have LOTS of cucumbers and we need your help making sure they all get used!

Volunteers will be at Echo Food Rescue Friday morning from 9:30 AM – 10:30 AM if anyone would like to stop by and grab some cucumbers.

Now is the perfect time to make pickles, cucumber salad, relish, or share with family and friends. Please take as many as you can use!

Let’s keep this good food out of the landfill and into kitchens ❤️

Did you know that over 46% of all food in Canada is wasted every year?

A huge portion of that waste is completely avoidable and it has a major impact on both our environment and our communities. Food waste contributes millions of tonnes of CO₂ emissions every year while so many families are struggling to access healthy food.

That’s why food rescue matters. 💚

Every cucumber, loaf of bread, or box of produce rescued helps keep good food out of the landfill and onto someone’s table.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing moms, grandmas, stepmoms, foster moms, and mother figures in our community 💐❤️

So much of love is shared through food — family dinners, packed lunches, favorite recipes, freezer meals after a new baby arrives, or coffee around the kitchen table. Food brings people together, creates memories, and shows people they are cared for.

That’s why food rescue matters. Every cucumber, loaf of bread, carton of milk, and box of produce we save helps make sure good food ends up on someone’s table instead of in the landfill.

We are open today — and every Sunday — from 1pm to 2pm. Come by and help us make sure nothing goes to waste while feeding our community with love 💚

We are open today and every Saturday from 1 PM – 2 PM! Come stock up and help us make sure nothing goes to waste. We have LOTS of cucumbers available today!

Looking for an easy recipe idea? Try this refreshing Creamy Cucumber Salad:

🥒 Sliced cucumbers
🧅 Thin sliced onions
🥄 Sour cream or Greek yogurt
🍋 Splash of vinegar or lemon juice
🌿 Dill, salt & pepper to taste

Mix together and chill before serving — perfect with BBQ or as a quick summer side dish!

Thank you to the Lacombe Pentecostal Church for sharing these photos. Your café helped use up some of the dairy we rescued, and that makes a huge difference.
