Starling Housing Services is one of six local organizations that benefit from funds raised through our annual Hockey Helps the Homeless Waterloo Region tournament

In fiscal 2025-2026, Safe Haven provided 521 hours of phone support to 180 youth. That’s almost 3 hours per call. By alleviating the crisis it prevented 73% of youth callers from requiring a shelter stay. They helped 131 youth from needing a shelter bed and all 180 youth from being on the street that night.

These outcomes demonstrate the powerful impact that timely intervention and compassionate support can have in helping vulnerable youth find safety, stability, and hope.
