๐ŸŒˆ What happens when Pride becomes a marketing strategy?

Our newest blog post explores the concept of rainbow washing: when organizations use Pride symbols, messaging, and campaigns to signal support for 2SLGBTQI+ communities without making meaningful commitments to inclusion and equity.

The article examines the ethical tensions surrounding corporate Pride, the commercialization of a movement rooted in activism, and what genuine allyship looks like beyond June.

As rainbow logos appear across brands this month, we invite you to consider an important question: Are organizations prepared to support the values they promote once Pride Month ends?

June is Men's Mental Health Month, also known as Men's Health Month is a time to raise awareness, encourage conversations, and remind the men in our lives that their mental health matters.

In Canada, Men's Mental Health Week takes place from June 9โ€“15, with Men's Mental Health Awareness Day recognized on June 13.

While mental health challenges can affect anyone, many men face unique barriers to seeking support, often due to stigma, societal expectations, or fear of being judged. By creating spaces where men feel heard, valued, and supported, we can help break down these barriers and encourage help-seeking when it's needed.๐Ÿ’™

Swipe through our photos in this post to learn more about men's mental health, explore key statistics, and discover why compassion, understanding, and open conversations are so important.

A simple check-in, a listening ear, or a reminder that it's okay to ask for help can make a meaningful difference. Everyone deserves support, and every story matters.

Safe Kids Week is an annual awareness campaign created by Parachute Canada that focuses on preventing predictable and preventable injuries in children.๐Ÿš˜๐Ÿš™

Children are among the most vulnerable road users and are especially susceptible to when walking or cycling near ongoing traffic. After school is a high-risk time for kids on the road. Most child pedestrian and bicyclist injuries happen between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Slow down and stay alert during these busy hours.๐Ÿšถ๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

Walk with younger children. Children develop the skills to navigate more complex traffic environments around ages 9โ€“11. Until then, walk together and practise safe crossing habits.

Happy Pride Month! June is dedicated to celebrating and honouring everyone in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. โœจ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿชฉ

Pride Month is a time to recognize the vibrant history, collective resilience, and countless contributions of LGBTQ2S+ communities worldwide. In Canada, the contemporary Pride movement reflects decades of activism and advocacy aimed at advancing the rights and visibility of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Pride Month is both a celebration of these achievements and a crucial reminder of the ongoing work needed to address inequities, support diverse identities, and uphold the rights and dignity of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in Canada and around the world.

Itโ€™s important to remember that Pride is not just an aesthetic, trend, or rainbow filter. Pride exists because people fought to be seen, loved, protected, and allowed to exist openly. This month is about joy, identity, history, community, and making space for people to be their full, authentic selves. Whether youโ€™re out, questioning, closeted, celebrating loudly, or quietly surviving, you belong here. ๐Ÿค
