Today we welcomed an amazing, hardworking team to help clean and fill the newly reframed raised beds at the Gananoque Community Garden. All the 2026-2027 outbound students for Rotary District 7040 Youth Exchange and their families did an awesome job with smiles on.

By participating directly in this project with members of the Rotary Club of Gananoque the YE students were able to see how community joins together in volunteerism to make a positive impact - in this case for affordable, accessible food access.

Jo Merkley worked crazy hours the past few weeks to remove the rotting wood, clear beds of w**ds, build new frames and secure partnership support. Thank you!!

Home Hardware donated all the lumber to reframe the beds, just as they did ten years ago. Thank you!!

Westgate Landscaping followed by donating a huge load of triple mix to fill the beds. Thank you!!

Finally thank you to all the students and families who worked alongside one of the founders of youth exchange in our area - Doug Bickerton. Thank you!!
