WUSC is a Canadian international development non-profit organization dedicated to improving education, employment and empowerment opportunities for youth, women and refugees in more than 25 countries around the world. We here at Queen's help in settling the students who came as refugees to Canada. We help them by guiding, mentoring and supporting them to adjust to new surroundings and new systems.

WUSC (World University Service of Canada) was founded in the 1920s as part of a global network that provided support to displaced students in post-war Europe. Since then, WUSC has evolved into a Canadian global development organization working in over 30 countries around the world.

WUSC Queen’s Local Committee – Fall Social Event
The WUSC Queen’s Local Committee hosted a Fall Social where members and WUSC SRP Scholars came together for an engaging and enjoyable evening. The event fostered meaningful conversations, allowing members to connect, share experiences, and build a stronger sense of community. We had healthy discussions about upcoming goals, ongoing initiatives, and ways to continue supporting student engagement and empowerment. Overall, it was a positive and inspiring gathering that strengthened collaboration and enthusiasm for the year ahead. And special thanks to .queensu and for their support.

On October 8th, WUSC Local Committee held a welcome event for our WUSC Scholars! An amazing night, orchestrated by our wonderful events team, with speeches, games, and great food was had. Thank you to all those who attended and helped run the event!

WUSC Queen’s needs YOUR support! In order to increase our student student fee funding for the WUSC program this year, we must gather over 300 undergraduate signatures by October 10th.

This increased funding will allow WUSC to fund more refugee students at Queen’s and give forcibly displaced students the chance at higher education!
