Tonight, Thursday!
Join our “Beyond the Noise” meditation classes at The Spire in Kingston, every Thursday in September, 6:30-7:30pm
Price - $14 per class or $45 for the 4-week series

When we sit down to meditate, our mind is often flooded with thoughts. This is entirely normal. At the beginning, we may feel we are not very good at meditating because we are either following thoughts or fighting them and we don’t experience peace right away. However, this is part of the process of becoming a meditator! With practice, we will begin to experience more confidence in our ability to meditate, and if we stick with it, we will see positive changes in ourself and our relationships.

These classes include two guided meditations and a practical talk on a weekly topic. After each class, there is time for Q&A. Each class is self-contained, so you are welcome to join at any time. No previous experience is required. You do not need to bring anything with you, and the meditation is conducted on chairs. No special clothing is required. No pre-pregistration is necessary.

Last Saturday Monthly, 11am-Noon

Next Class - Sat Sept 26th:
A Buddhist Perspective on Aging
Price - $14 per class or $45 for a 4-class pass

When we’re young, old age and sickness can feel distant—almost unreal. Yet time passes quickly, and sooner than we expect, we grow older and face illness. Aging and sickness are unavoidable parts of life, and still, we spend so much time, energy, and money trying to avoid them. Often, our efforts focus only on the outward signs of growing older. A Buddhist perspective invites us to look inward instead. It encourages us to examine our attitudes toward aging and illness with honesty and compassion.

In this class, Bill Spurrell will share Buddhist wisdom on facing aging and sickness without fear or denial. Discover how powerful and comforting it can be to learn that we can grow old wisely, happily, and meaningfully.

What to Expect:

These classes include two guided meditations and a practical talk on a weekly topic. After each class, there is time for Q&A. Each class is self-contained, so you are welcome to join at any time. No previous experience is required. You do not need to bring anything with you, and the meditation is conducted on chairs. No special clothing is required. No pre-pregistration is necessary.

The Teacher:

Bill Spurrell has been a student of Kadampa Buddhism for 30 years. He is well-loved for his warmth and kindness. His teaching style inspires people to put Dharma into practice in a jofyul and grounded manner.
