350 means climate safety. To preserve our planet, scientists tell us we must reduce the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere from its current level of 392 parts per million to below 350 ppm. But 350 is more than a number—it's a symbol of where we need to head as a planet.
350.org works hard to organize in a new way—everywhere at once, using online tools to facilitate strategic offline action. We want t

o be a laboratory for the best ways to strengthen the climate movement and catalyze transformation around the world. We operate at a large scale to take on the world's greatest challenge. In October of 2009 we coordinated 5200 simultaneous rallies and demonstrations in 181 countries, what CNN called the 'most widespread day of political action in the planet's history.' On 10/10/10, we organized a day of climate solutions projects--from solar panel installations to community garden plantings--and changed communities from the bottom up with over 7,000 events in 188 countries. And at the end of last year, we coordinated a climate art project so large it had to be photographed from a satellite in outer space.

On September 14, Carney is inviting the worst corporate villains to a summit in downtown Toronto to sell off public resources and finance destructive megaprojects like weapons factories, AI data centres and toxic pipelines.
In response, from September 12-14, the people are organizing our own "Many vs the Money Counter Summit." This is a multi-day movement-building event with special guest speakers, workshops, cultural programming, and an opportunity to crash Carney's CEO Summit.

Mourn the dead. Fight like hell for the living. The catastrophes we are seeing across the globe are not natural disasters. Let’s name the culprits. It’s the fossil fuel companies that knew for decades that their business model would cause climate chaos... and they went ahead with it anyway. They sacrificed our future for their profit and now some of the most vulnerable people across the world are paying the price with their lives.

To top it all off: Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron, TotalEnergies, BP and fossil fuel companies across the world are on track to complete their most profitable year yet as they exploit the climate emergency and war to rake in record profits.

As a pillar in the climate justice movement and an unwavering voice for Indigenous rights, she was a lifelong warrior. You asked for it, so we’ve timed this call a bit later than usual in hopes that supporters in earlier time zones will be better able to attend. We hope to see some strong west coast representation!
