David Haywood is a Partner and Insurance Advisor at Wilson M Beck, with a career in insurance and financial services dating back to 2002. He specializes in employee benefits and tax, estate, and insurance planning for business owners, and has built that career on making complex issues easier to understand — helping clients put practical strategies in place to protect their businesses, employees, and families.

David gives back as a Society Member of the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, an active member of the Rotary Club of Kamloops West, and the founder of Bridging the Gap, a program supporting people experiencing homelessness and poverty in Vancouver. Outside of work, he enjoys the outdoors, golfing, cooking, and spending time with his sons, Luke and TJ.

Laurel Humberstone is coming up on five years with Wilson M Beck, having worked her way up to Account Manager. She loves that no two days look the same, thriving on the trust and innovative thinking that comes with being a true partner to the business owners she works with.

Off the clock, she’s into slo-pitch, basketball, snowboarding, and exploring with her dog.

Max Patel is one of the newest additions to the Wilson M Beck team. As an Account Executive, he helps businesses identify, manage, and protect against risk, building relationships that let owners focus on what they do best.

Outside the office, he’s usually outdoors — on the trail, on the water, or on two wheels.

David Braaten was a Red Seal chef and a father of three when a severe brain injury changed his life. It took his sense of taste and smell- the tools of his trade- and left him relearning things most of us never think about: names, numbers, directions, the short-term memory we take for granted.

His faith became the ground he rebuilt on, steadying him through the moments that felt overwhelming, and giving him the confidence to adapt to a life he didn’t choose. Now he gives that back: David volunteers with KBIA, supporting classroom visits and our educational programs.

We’re honoured to have David kick off this year’s Gur Singh Memorial Golf Tournament with his story- a reminder of exactly why this community, and this cause, matter.
