Here's a reminder that life goes a lot easier and smoother if we decide to do what God wants, His way, because we can make all the plans we want, but He determines our steps. We don't know the future; He does. But He is good, He loves you, and He wants what's best for you...so talk to Him, read the Bible, trust Him, and follow Him. You just might be surprised how good His plans are for you!

When we're going through hard times, facing any kind of struggle, or wrestling with a temptation, we need to replace those bad thoughts of wanting to give up or give in with the good things of God. So set your heart and mind on things above. As Paul wrote, "Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things." (Philippians 4:8)

This is a great promise, but it can feel impossible to reach. However, this verse is not about the super intelligent or overly righteous. It's about those who go to Jesus for His righteousness and wisdom!

In Philippians 3:9, Paul wrote about not having a righteousness of his own, but that found through faith in Jesus, and James wrote, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you" (James 1:5).

So you too can shine like the stars and lead many to righteousness, if you'll trust and follow Jesus, and ask for and embrace His wisdom, not the wisdom of this world.

Parents, as we wrapped up August's theme called Masterpiece where we're helping children learn more about how they are made by God and made in His image, we finished with a look at how God has given all of us gifts (abilities) we can use to build God's kingdom. So talk to your child about what they are good at and how they can use their gifts to serve others and share the good news & love of Jesus ❤

Whatever you're going through, whatever you're facing, remember that Jesus is always there for you, He is good, and He loves you...and we know that because Jesus never changes. So talk to Him, read His Word (the Bible), share your struggles. He wants you to rely on Him ❤
