Hey Kamloops, you may have noticed that salmon are busy spawning in rivers and creeks. That means females laying eggs, males fertilizing the eggs, and then both dying (don't be alarmed, their bodies feed birds, bears, insects, and even trees!)
This year there's a very large run of pinks. Come to this fun family event to learn more about them and one of the places they like to spawn, the Tranquille river.
Live demonstrations, activities, and displays provided by KNC, the BIG Little Science Centre, BC Conservation Foundation, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, WildSafeBC Kamloops, BC Wildlife Park, and BC Parks!
Festivities will be taking place 1.2 KM up the trail from the parking area. The trail includes slippery and wet sections. A shuttle bus will be travelling back and forth for those who cannot or do not want to walk the trail.
Need a ride to the event? Free bus transportation is also available from the North Shore Total Pet parking, departures at 10 am and 1 pm. For any questions or to reserve a seat please e-mail [email protected]
