🎉📚 What an incredible couple of weeks celebrating our Meaning of Home Grand Prize Winners and runner-up across Nova Scotia!
Our team had the privilege of visiting schools in Halifax and Inverness to recognize the outstanding students whose heartfelt entries earned national recognition in Habitat for Humanity Canada's Meaning of Home contest, organized by Habitat for Humanity Canada.
During each visit, we shared presentations with their classmates about the contest and the impact it has on families in our communities. We also celebrated with pizza parties for the entire class, because achievements like these deserve to be shared! 🍕🎈
A special congratulations to:
✨ Julia S. of Halifax, Grade 4 Grand Prize Winner for My New Home
✨ Harlow M. of Inverness, Grade 5 Grand Prize Winner for Beautifully Messy
✨ Asif A. of Dartmouth, Grade 6 Runner-Up for Moza is Home
Each winning student received an iPad in recognition of their remarkable achievement, and they are immensely proud of the impact their words have made.
We are also grateful to the representatives from our sponsoring organizations - Dustin from BrokerLink, Carlos from Stantec, and Bailey from BMO - who joined us for some of these celebrations. Your support helps make opportunities like this possible and encourages young people to see how their voices can create meaningful change.
Most importantly, thank you to the students, teachers, families, and school communities who embraced this year's contest. Through their creativity and compassion, Nova Scotia students helped raise an incredible $89,660 to support affordable housing in our province.
Congratulations to our Grand Prize Winners, our runner-up, and every student who shared what home means to them. Your words are helping build brighter futures for local families. 🩵🏡
