Why HireHER™ Matters

At GROW Women Leaders, we champion HireHER™ because talent is everywhere, but fair access to opportunity is not.

Too many women, especially immigrant women and Black, Indigenous, and women of colour, are overlooked because their experience is judged through narrow ideas of “Canadian experience,” familiar networks, or conventional career paths. Skilled women can be ready to contribute and still face barriers that have little to do with their ability.

HireHER helps employers turn good intentions into better hiring practices. We work with organizations to review job descriptions, define skills clearly, use structured interviews and fair assessment, and strengthen onboarding. The goal is to help employers recognize capability and make hiring decisions with greater consistency.

We champion HireHER because inclusion must reach the workplace—not stop at a conversation or a statement of support. When employers remove avoidable barriers, they widen their talent pool, improve access to opportunity, and build teams that better reflect the communities they serve.

Important Update: GROW Women Leaders Summit 2026 💚

Sometimes growth requires us to make room to GROW.

The overwhelming response following our last GROW Summit brought a significant influx of women into the GROW ecosystem, building on the momentum of our HireHER: Pathway to Inclusive Recruitment project, supported by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE).

We are incredibly grateful for that growth. It has also shown us that before creating another major influx of demand, we need to strengthen the infrastructure and capacity behind the opportunities we are creating.

As HireHER: Pathway to Inclusive Recruitment comes to completion, we are taking this opportunity to capture its outcomes, document what we have learned, and use those insights to strengthen the next phase of the GROW ecosystem.

For that reason, we have made the difficult but intentional decision to pause the GROW Women Leaders Summit in 2026 and return in 2027.

This year, we are investing our resources into strengthening our programs, team, systems, partnerships, and capacity to better serve the women already coming through our doors.

Before we host another Summit, we want to strengthen what happens after the Summit.

To the hundreds who have already registered, we sincerely apologize for the change. You may request a full refund or keep your registration for the 2027 Summit. We will contact you directly with next steps.

This is not the end of the GROW Summit. It is an investment in what comes next.

Stay tuned. We have a lot to build. 💚
