To foster the growth and awareness of all forms of Ukrainian arts in Alberta.

Our Objectives
To educate the public with respect to the Ukrainian arts. To support and promote Ukrainian artists and their work through a variety of activities that engage the broader Alberta public. Our Goals
One of ACUA's major effort is to renew and to increase membership by developing and implementing a new membership campaign. The focus is intended to increase awareness of the organization,

to excite and engage new members to join and participate in supporting the activities and programs of the organization. ACUA accomplishes its mission in these ways:
• Educating the public in Ukrainian art forms through workshops and lectures.
• Engaging and involving the community with respect Ukrainian arts and cultural traditions.
• Publishing ACUA Vitae arts and culture magazine.
• Creating awareness by publishing, sharing, and disseminating information about Ukrainian art and culture.
• Maintaining an online directory of Ukrainian Canadian artists.
• Providing community outreach.
• Providing artists and community organizations with opportunities including a venue to display, promotions, and professional development opportunities to help introduce them to the greater community.
• Granting scholarships and awards that support Ukrainian Canadian artists and art projects that promote Ukrainian art and culture.

SATURDAY Theodora presents her final The Creative Act series of workshops.

Join her for The Art of Continuous Line and learn to look at the world around us a little differently.

Use various plants, vases, items from home, etc, to use as subjects as you do continuous line drawings. Discover the love of line and learn to use what’s around us to inspire your imaginations.

Theodora Harasymiw is back with another popular workshop in her series, The Creative Act.

On Sunday join her for The Art of Making Without Knowing a space and time where there is no right or wrong.

Release control and give in to play. You will use patterns, mark making, pens, pastels, ink, wax relief, and many other materials. Open-ended directions will be given to see how everyone interprets it differently.

A wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon. 1pm - 3pm in our Gallery. Register today.

🗓️ It all starts Saturday June 27 at 11:00 and runs until 3:00 p.m.

🇺🇦 Ukrainian embroidery, jewelry, pottery, ceramics, weaving, carving, artwork, music, religious items, pysanky, books, gifts, souvenirs, and more.

❤️ Add to your dining set, maybe even some shot glasses to get your Ukrainian party started. Maybe you’ll find a rare record or an old cookbook for some new recipes.

Today ACUA was honoured to visit with Eleanor Olszewski the Honourable Member of Parliament for Edmonton Centre, Minister Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience; Minister responsible for Prairies Economic Development Canada, in our Gallery and Boutique.

Hosted by ACUA Board Vice President Irene Pyzyk and her husband, Myron, the Minister toured the building, marveled at the art and crafts, was moved by our exhibits, and was fascinated by our history, our story, and our role in the community.

Thank you for visiting with us Minister! You are always welcome at ACUA.
