CBC/Radio-Canada recently interviewed Heather MacKenzie, Solar Alberta's Executive Director, on the solar panel recycling fees being implemented in Alberta this fall: « Nous nous attendions à la mise en place de ces frais, mais rien d’aussi élevé et punitif », ajoute-t-elle (Heather MacKenzie, Solar Alberta's ED). C’est que, pour Solar Alberta et d’autres membres de l’industrie, le montant détonne dans la liste des écofrais en place en Alberta. Le plus élevé jusqu’à maintenant s’applique aux écrans de plus de 30 pouces (76 cm) et n’est que de 2,75 $.

Alberta is experiencing an unprecedented shift in our solar market, including a drastic decline in utility-scale solar. In 2025, growth in micro and small-distributed solar generation outpaced utility-scale solar! By comparison, from 2021 to 2023, micro and small-scale solar growth was just a fraction of what we saw in utility-scale solar.
