Our building is getting a makeover!

We're so excited to revitalize our building space with our current branding. This updated signage will make our building stand out, with colourful visuals and signs featuring our meals.

With these changes, we also hope to catch the eye of surrounding community members who could benefit from our ready-to-eat meals.

October's the time when we come together and give back thanks 🍂

In the spirit of the season, Independent Jewellers is partnering with Edmonton Meals on Wheels to show their dedication to community by helping us provide healthy and delicious meals.

As people pick out the perfect gift for their loved one, they'll also have the chance to make a difference with 5% of online orders going towards supporting Edmonton Meals on Wheels. Plus, in-store donations will be doubled by Gerry Gilroy, owner of Independent Jewellers.

A huge thank you to the wonderful donors who stopped by to donate 80 lbs of carrots and 51 lbs of beets from their garden. What an impressive harvest!

Our kitchen looks forward to using this bountiful donation to create nutrient-rich meals that we can serve to our community. Thank you for sharing your dedication and generosity, one veggie at a time.

To donate, you can drop off your donation at our downtown office (11111 103 Ave) between 8 am and 3 pm during the week (Mon-Fri).

Today, we stand together to observe National Day for Truth and Reconciliation to commemorate the victims and survivors of residential school.

This day reminds us of our responsibility as a Treaty partner to continuously seek ways to contribute towards reconciliation. As a community organization, we recognize that our facility is sits on Treaty 6 territory have long since served as a gathering place for many First Nations groups.

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to nourish our community and advocate for the needs of our clients by identifying gaps in service. By filling these service gaps, we aim to promote equitable access to nutritious, ready-to-eat meals for everyone in our community.

Thank you to our Indigenous community partners for providing valuable insights that inform our practices as a food security organization.

Edmonton Meals on Wheels is fortunate to have community-minded volunteers driving our mission. For many, volunteering with Edmonton Meals on Wheels is more than a way to pass the time, but an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of others.

Our long-time volunteer, Allan, best exemplifies this commitment to community with over 39 years of service. Over the years, Allan has played a instrumental role by delivering nutritious meals and social connection to those who rely on our service.

Allan discovered his passion for volunteering when he first delivered alongside his colleagues. That first delivery marked the start of his volunteer journey. Over the years, Allan has watched Edmonton Meals on Wheels grow into a robust home delivery service with its own kitchen facility. and helped support hundreds of clients with his compassion and radiant sense of humour.

Thank you to Allan for setting an example that we can all aspire to 💕

🍎🥪 Healthy lunches that support learning

Do you know about our new school lunch program? We're so excited to share that Edmonton Meals on Wheels now delivers to local schools. We recently partnered with St Teresa of Calcutta to provide nutritious, kid-friendly meals that help students thrive in and out of the classroom.

For four days a week, we deliver 150 servings of hot lunches or sandwiches, as well as fresh snacks. St Teresa distributes these meals without any cost to parents, meaning that all students can benefit from a healthy lunch.

Since 1969, EMOW has delivered nutritious, thoughtfully-prepared meals to anyone facing barriers to healthy eating. With decades of experience and our own production facility, we have the capacity to meet a wide variety of nutritional needs in our community.
