Hi team,

We’re heading into a high-impact stretch for Protect Our Winters Canada in Edmonton, and this is where our community presence really counts.

Please note that we are moving from Facebook to Whatsapp for future communications:

From May through July, we’ve been invited to table at a series of outdoor events, races, and community gatherings - each one an opportunity to spark conversations, grow our local movement, and bring more people into climate action.

We’re looking for volunteers to join us at one (or more) of the following events:

Saturday, May 9 (12 - 5 PM)
“Pale Blue Dot” concert by YEG Young Voices Children’s Choir - Northeast River Valley Park

Thursday, May 14 (5:30 - 9 PM)
Trail Running Film Festival - Metro Cinema

Saturday, May 30 (8:30 AM - 1 PM)
Fjällräven x Life Changers x Mega Trash Bash - James Kidney Park

Thursday, June 11 (5 - 8:30 PM)
Biodiversity Event - Rundle Park

Saturday, June 13 (AM - 4 PM)
North Sun Ultramarathon Aid Station - Fort Edmonton Park

Saturday, July 18 (11:30 AM - 3 PM)
Climb YEG x Root for Trees - Louise McKinney Riverfront Park

How to get involved:
Reply to this post and let me know which event(s) you’re in for - you’re welcome to select more than one.

Why join:
Connect with the outdoor community and represent POW locally
Build confidence in climate conversations
Be part of meaningful, on-the-ground impact
Enjoy the events themselves

Feel free to bring a friend, partner, or family member - even if they’re new to POW. These events are a great entry point into the community. Please inform us before bringing a friend.

If you’d like more details about any specific event, just hit reply and I’ll send everything you need.
Let’s show up strong this season.
