The Cowichan Valley Regional District is developing an Accessibility Plan, and your voice matters. The survey takes just minutes and asks about barriers you may have faced, as well as positive experiences with accessible spaces and programs in the region.

You can answer for yourself or as a caregiver. We encourage everyone in our community to take part.

The Cowichan Valley Regional District (CVRD) is creating an Accessibility Plan to identify, remove, and prevent barriers to access in all CVRD spaces, programs, and services. We are asking for community feedback to make sure that the Accessibility Plan reflects the diverse needs of people living, wo...

See the person, not the label.

This video from the Developmental Disabilities Association captures something we hold close at Clements Centre: every person in our community is much more than any single descriptor. Take a few minutes to watch, and then share it widely.

Individuals who are neurodivergent or who have developmental or intellectual disabilities often face countless “micro-aggressions” out in the world. Other pe...

Our bakers brought some delicious cookie samples to Chemainus Country Grocer last week, and the tasting demonstration was a hit. We love any chance to connect with our community and share what our bakers have been working on. A big thank you to Chemainus Country Grocer for the warm welcome.

Now tell us: what is your favourite cookie?

Clements Centre's Supported Employment Program believes that early intervention makes all the difference. Visit our newest blog to learn how pre-employment training gives youth a stronger foundation for long-term success, building confidence, workplace readiness, and essential life skills before they enter the job market. With strong mentorship and early exposure to career planning, youth are better equipped to make informed decisions, pursue meaningful employment opportunities, and achieve greater independence and stability in adulthood.

Thanks to the generous support of Our Cowichan Communities Health Network, Clements Centre launched a mental health lending library this past year for families with children from birth to age six.

Housed with our early years Clinical Counsellor, the library offers a curated selection of materials, games, and publications to help families strengthen mental health, address current needs, and prevent future challenges. Families can receive personalized guidance on which resources best suit them.

This library reflects our belief that every child and family deserves the tools to thrive. Thank you, Our Cowichan Communities Health Network, for making this possible.

Thank you for believing in our mission: hope, belonging, and independence, and thank you Queen Margaret's School for being a champion of our charity.
