Life on Wheels Vision for Outreach to Women


The following Bible verses encourage us to reach out to women living on the street and in shelters:

Older Women Teaching the Younger Women - Titus 2:3-5
Rescue those who are being drawn to death... - Proverbs 24:11
Let your light shine... - Matthew 5:16
Be salt of the earth... - Matthew 5:13
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy... - 1

Samuel 2:8
The strong shall come alongside the weak - Isaiah 40:28-31

Some of the goals we’re working towards:

Ministry
1. Health Education

1. Knit, crochet
4. Crafts
5. Art: Drawing and Painting
6. Cooking: meal preps; healthy smoothies and baking

Health:
1. First Aid and Health Coaching
2. Friendship: Tea and visit
3. Haven of peace, rest and safety
4. Resources: Community; Secular and Church; Clothing; Toiletries; Footwear; Good reading
5. Referrals: Jobs; Accommodation; Education; Medical; Pregnancy Counseling

The rules we have in place at the motor home site:
1. No handling of money
2. Not a place to use the washroom
3. No needle exchange or disposal
4. No selling; only free loans and donations
5. Non-denominational
6. No ‘one on one’; always a minimum of 2 women present
7. Keep a log of all visits and ministry given

Life on Wheels now has a faith based supportive recovery house, called The Way, for women out of detox, or not needing to go to detox. We are now taking applications for our 6 bed home. Referrals can be made to Cheryl Howard at 250-706-2428, or [email protected]
