Our condolences to Matthew's family, as well as all of our friends and partners at Emergency Health Services - EHS in Nova Scotia.

It is with profound sadness that the NSPPA acknowledges the passing of Matthew Lent, EHS Medical Communications Officer and former Paramedic.

Matthew will be remembered first and foremost as a devoted Husband and Father.

His colleagues will remember him for being a steady and reliable dispatcher, who championed Patient and Crew safety. His big hearted compassion, humour, and fierce advocacy are just a few of the many attributes that made him immeasurably valuable to the EHS medical communications center and the broader EHS system.

Our sincerest condolences are extended to his family, friends and colleagues.

Words can't express how much the support from the paramedics of New Brunswick has meant to everyone here.

Knowing that our paramedics will be able to take time to properly grieve and honour the lives of our dear friends is truly a blessing.

Many thanks to the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick, Ambulance New Brunswick, Island EMS, and the College of Paramedics of PEI for making this possible.

While we hope to never have to return the favour under similar circumstances, know that we will be ready to answer the call if the day ever comes.

Island EMS and the paramedics of PEI have suffered a tragic loss today. Two incredible paramedics lost their lives today along with the patient they were caring for at the time.

The outpouring of support from the local community, as well as from agencies across the country has been overwhelming and greatly appreciated.

Our hearts are with the friends and families of those affected, as well as all of the paramedics who will be feeling the impact of this tragedy in the days to come.

Happy Paramedic Services Week and thank you to Island Hill Farm for supporting us again this year 💙

During Paramedic Services Week, we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible dedication of the paramedics who serve our community with care, courage, and compassion every day.

Paramedic Services Week runs from May 18th–23rd this year, and for the third year in a row, Island Hill Farm, along with PAPEI, is proud to show our appreciation.

During this week, we are offering free admission for paramedics (with valid ID) and their families, as a small thank you for all that you do. In addition, we’re also offering an extra $10 savings on Island Hill Farm memberships when purchased online.

We are truly grateful for the work you do in our communities—often in moments that matter most. We look forward to welcoming you to the farm for a well-deserved visit to slow down, recharge, and enjoy time with family and animals.
