We're looking for photographers for the 2026 Canmore Pride Festival. Our photographers help capture moments from the festival so we can look back and celebrate pride!

The festival will take place from September 23-28, but the dates we need help with the most are:
Friday, September 25 (around 1 PM, and 7 PM, ~ 1 hr)
Saturday, September 26 (10 AM-2:30 PM)
Sunday, September 27 (time TBD)

Canmore Pride is Hiring: Community Programs Coordinator

The Community Programs Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day planning, coordination, and administration of Canmore Pride's recurring community programs. This role helps ensure programs are well organized, well communicated, and supported by volunteers, allowing them to run consistently throughout the year.

Hours: 20 hours/week
Compensation: $28/hour
Term: One-year independent contractor position.

The Opening Reception: Q***r(y)ing Ecologies P***c Art Exhibit is happening tonight (Thurs, Aug 13) at artsPlace Canmore. Free and open to everyone including allies.

Schedule

6:00 pm — Doors open for film screening (Optional)
6:15–7:00 pm — Animal Pride: Nature’s Coming Out Story screening (Optional)
7:00 pm — Opening Reception: Complimentary wine, cheese, snacks and refreshments + time to explore the exhibition!
7:30 pm — Brief project introduction + Group Q&A
8:00 pm — More mingling, art exploring + conversations with artists, facilitators and other community members!

The rainbow crosswalk is getting repainted!

The Pride crosswalk on 6 Avenue, near Friendship Park, will be receiving a refresh beginning the week of Aug. 17.

As part of scheduled roadway maintenance, crews will remove the existing surface, repave the area, and reinstall the rainbow crosswalk markings. Over the years, this crosswalk has become a valued symbol of inclusion, belonging, and community pride.

We want to reassure everyone that this work is simply a renewal of the crosswalk and does not represent any change in our support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. The Pride crosswalk remains an important symbol of our commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive community for all. This project will help ensure it continues to be a vibrant and meaningful symbol of our commitment for years to come.

Here's what to expect:
🌈 Work will begin the week of Aug. 17.
🌈 The existing crosswalk will be temporarily removed while paving and renewal work takes place.
🌈 Rainbow markings will be reinstalled approximately 7 to 10 days after paving.
🌈 Work is weather dependent, and timelines may change.
🌈 Expect temporary traffic delays, detours, and limited pedestrian access in the area.

Happy Pride Month!

Here are some of the highlights from the month:

*We sold out the Two-Spirit Takeover, raising over $2,000 for Canmore Pride. These funds will support our programs as well as collaborations with 2S community members. (Photo credit: )

We are in need of participants for a focus group about housing happening tomorrow (Monday, June 15) at Elevation Place from 6:30-8:30 PM. This is open to everyone (all backgrounds - including those not part of the 2SLGBTQ+ community).

This data is also really helpful for grant applications for Canmore Pride and advocacy for queer/trans inclusive housing options.
