An Important Update from the Calgary Walk to Remember
It is with very heavy hearts that we share that the Calgary Walk to Remember will not take
place in 2026. This decision was not made lightly.
For more than a decade, this Walk has been rooted in one simple but powerful purpose: to create a safe and meaningful space for families to honour their babies, speak their names, and stand alongside others who understand this kind of grief.
Being part of this community has brought so many of us immense pride, profound healing, and a sense of connection that is difficult to put into words. Walking beside so many families over the years has been one of the greatest honours of our lives.
Unfortunately, this year our small committee of three is facing significant personal, family, and health challenges. We tried very hard to find a way to make the Walk happen in some form, but ultimately we had to recognize that our own families and health need our attention—and that this community deserves an event we are able to give our full hearts and energy to.
For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to take a break this year.
We are sincerely sorry to every family who was looking forward to gathering with us in
September. We know how meaningful this day is, and we do not take that loss lightly.
Our hope is that this pause allows us to rest, regroup, and return stronger in the future. We
remain deeply committed to the heart and purpose of the Calgary Walk to Remember and to continuing to create a space where our babies are remembered, honoured, and always spoken of with love.
We also continue to welcome anyone who may be interested in volunteering or joining our
committee in the future. This Walk has always been built by community, and its future will be
stronger with more hands and hearts helping carry it forward.
Thank you for your understanding, your compassion, and for trusting us with your babies’ names and stories over all these years.
