International Day of Charity: Generosity can take many forms.

It can be sharing your time, offering what you have, passing along knowledge, helping someone who needs it, or simply showing up for one another.

At Miskanawah, we believe strong communities are built through relationships and reciprocity. Kîyokêwin (ᑮᔪᑫᐏᐣ) speaks to the importance of visiting and connecting with one another. These connections create opportunities to listen, share, learn, and care for each other.

On International Day of Charity, we invite you to think about what giving looks like in your own life. Maybe it is volunteering your time, supporting an Indigenous organization, checking in on someone in your community, sharing what you know, or making a donation if you are able.

Every act of generosity can strengthen the relationships that connect us.

Sacred Voices – The Movement (Ages 14-18)

Indigenous youth ages 14–18 are invited to join Sacred Voices – The Movement, a special evening hosted in partnership with the Planet Youth Indigenous Parallel team and Children’s Cottage Society.

Through small group circles, youth will have the opportunity to share their lived experiences, goals, hopes, and dreams for the future, while discussing what matters to them and what they would like to see in their communities to support youth well-being and healthy choices.

This is a chance for Indigenous youth to have their voices heard and help shape conversations about what could make their communities stronger and more supportive for young people.

📆 Date: September 8, 2026
⏰ Time: 5:30–8:00 p.m.
📍 Location: Children’s Cottage Society

Food and snacks will be provided, and each participant will receive a $50 gift card and a thank-you gift for their participation.
