They took the stage to deliver a beautifully heartfelt address, sharing their deep gratitude for the parents who support them, the teachers who inspire them, and the fellow classmates who walk alongside them. The celebrations didn’t stop after the main event! 🤝🚲

Because the team at Bikes for Humanity couldn't make it out to our Historic 10,000 bike give away, we caught up with them later to make sure they were recognized for their incredible support.

Here is our Bike Program Coordinator, Darlene Kerr, presenting a special 10,000th Bike Certificate to John Atto from Bikes for Humanity!

Partnerships are the lifeblood of our program, and the Bikes for Humanity crew just blew us away by donating a whopping 82 bicycles to help fuel our spring and summer season. 🛠️✨

It takes a village to refurbish and distribute 10,000 bikes, and we are so incredibly grateful for organizations like Bikes for Humanity who share our belief that every kid deserves a safe, reliable ride.

Thank you, John, and your entire team, for your immense generosity and for pedaling alongside us to support Calgary youth!

WE DID IT! 🚲🎉 10,000 BIKES AND SO MUCH LOVE!

A massive, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who came out to witness and celebrate our 10,000th Bike Giveaway! The energy in the room was absolutely incredible.

This milestone was 25 years in the making, and it wouldn't have been possible without:
🛠️ Our incredible volunteers who showed up early, prepped bikes, sorted helmets, and loaded up vehicles with endless smiles.
🤝 Our community and social agency partners who help us get these bikes directly to the kids who need them most.
💙 Our donors and supporters who believe in our mission that Every Kid Deserves a Bike.

Seeing that historic 10,000th bike presented at 10:00 AM is a memory the Chinook Kiwanis team won't soon forget. Because of your support, thousands of Calgary kids now have the independence, confidence, and simple joy of a safe ride.

We are officially fueled up and ready for the rest of our spring and summer season! Thank you for being a part of our history, Calgary. 🙏🇨🇦

This is the Moment we’ve been working toward for 25 years.

Grab your coffee and come down to our Dalhousie bike garage to witness a massive piece of community history: the presentation of our 10,000th bike! 🚲✨

We would love for our neighbors, donors, and supporters to come share in the excitement, cheer on our crew, and see the garage in action.

Here is how the morning rolls out:

8:00 AM: final setup (the garage is packed with ready-to-ride bikes!)

8:30AM: The garage opens!

10:00 AM: The Milestone Presentation. Join us as we hand over the historic 10,000th bike to a local child and celebrate with our partner agencies. 📸🎉

11:00 AM: Distribution begins! Agencies arrive to load up the fleets and fit the helmets.

Come feel the energy and celebrate 10,000 smiles with the Chinook Kiwanis team. See you shortly! 🙌

✨ TOMORROW MORNING: Watch history in the making! ✨

After 25 years and countless hours in the garage, the Kiwanis Club of Calgary Chinook is hitting a monumental milestone. Tomorrow morning we are giving away our 10,000th bike! 🚲🎉

We want you to come and witness this incredible community achievement! Whether you’ve donated a bike in the past, volunteered your time, or just love a great local success story, come share in the celebration.

Here is the official schedule for tomorrow morning so you don't miss a thing:

⏰ 8:00 AM – Set Up Begins: Watch our volunteers transform the garage and line up the fleets of refurbished bikes (or jump in and give them a hand!)
📸 10:00 AM – The Big Presentation: This is the moment! Join us for the official presentation of the historic 10,000th bike to a local child alongside our partner social agencies. (Perfect for photos/videos!)
📋 11:00 AM – Bike Giveaway Appointments: See the program in action as agencies arrive, helmets are fitted, and bikes are loaded up for kids across Calgary.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Friendship, Free lunch, fresh air, and fixing up bikes for a great cause. What’s not to love? 🛠️🥪

Our spring/summer Bike Program is officially kicking off, and we need volunteers for our May "Bike Prep" sessions!

What we need:
✅ People to help clean and prep bikes.
✅ Helping hands to organize helmets.
✅ Mechanical skills are a plus, but definitely not required!

The Dates: May 12, 14, & 19 (9 AM - Noon)
The Perk: We provide lunch for all our hard-working volunteers! 😋

Come help us reach our 10,000th bike giveaway on May 21st. It’s going to be an incredible morning seeing these bikes head out to kids across Calgary.

WANTED: Helping hands for a 10,000-bike milestone! 🛠️🚲

Our first Bike Giveaway of the season is happening Thursday, May 21 (8:30 AM – Noon), and it’s a big one. Not only are we sending bikes out into the community, but we will also be handing over our 10,000th bike!

We need a crew of volunteers to help us make the magic happen at our Dalhousie garage. No bike repair skills needed for this shift, just a willingness to jump in!

We need help with:
✅ Bike Matching: Helping assign the right bikes to our partner agencies.
✅ Loading Crew: Helping load the bikes as agencies arrive to pick them up.
✅ Helmet Station: Organizing and prepping the new helmets that go home with every child.

Be a part of the team that gets the 10,000th bike to its new home! It’s a fast-paced, high-reward morning seeing these bikes head off to kids across Calgary.
