Fly Babies: Who's Who In The Clouds
Join us on August 21 for a cloud and airplane craft, free play, story time, and a tour exploring who flew in our different aircraft! This program is recommended for children ages 2-4.

Join us for a very special evening on Tuesday, September 15! From 4:00pm – 8:00pm we will be commemorating the 86th anniversary of Battle of Britain Day with a full slate of unique programming. This special event will include a talk from University of Calgary history professor Dr. Glenn Wilkinson, the opportunity to handle authentic WWII artifacts, and access to both our main building and tent hangar. These programs are included with the price of admission and are FREE for members!

We can’t even remember the last time we were open to the public to explore the museum during the evening, so don’t miss out on joining us!

Volunteer Spotlight: Jesus.

Jesus has contributed over 1200 hours at the museum in the past 3 years. He has helped troubleshoot and improve our simulator. He has devised clever improvements for many of our aircraft and artifacts, and helped arrange the Phoenix Fanjet move. Jesus is generous and considerate of everyone else on the team. We are grateful for his innovations!

Last entry is at 3:30pm on these dates. Ensure you’re wearing fully closed toe shoes for safe participation (no crocs, sandals, slippers, or heels).

Memberships pay for themselves in less than 3 visits (the family membership in less than two visits) and you still have time to see all 5 if you start now!

Which plane is open for touring on Sunday? It’s the Avro Lancaster! This is the iconic aircraft that everyone is always clamouring to get inside. Ensure you wear closed-toe shoes for this experience and we’ll provide the safety bump caps and gloves.

Now Boarding: Open Aircraft Days continues on weekends until September 7! This weekend you can tour the interior of the DC-3 on Saturday and the Avro Lancaster on Sunday!

For the very first time this year, we have collectible cards to match the aircraft we open! Check out all five and collect ‘em all.

This is included in the cost of general admission! Please ensure you’re wearing fully closed-toe shoes for this experience (no sandals, crocs, heels, or slippers).

The Hangar Flight Museum urgently needs volunteers for our upcoming Casino Fundraiser (September 12th and 13th, 2026). This is our largest fundraiser of the year, and without enough volunteers, we risk losing this opportunity.

13 shifts remain empty!

- Each volunteer hour raises ~$300
- Our last casino raised over ~$80,000 to support The Hangar Flight Museum and our programs
- No volunteer clearance required
- Anyone can volunteer — family, friends, neighbours, colleagues (age 18+)

To wrap-up our series on Aviation and International Relations, today we will be looking at current news regarding Canada's contributions to aviation! More specifically, we'll learn about Canada's role in the North Atlantic Trade Organization (NATO), and discuss recent decisions regarding GlobalEye.
