Tiresome. Another Liberal press conference and photoshoot built on fairytales.

Justin Trudeauā€™s Defence Minister, Bill Blair, announced that the government would supposedly be building 480 housing units at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt. Thereā€™s just one problemā€¦these 480 new units ARENā€™T HOUSING units at all.

Instead they are the replacement for the Nelles Block barracks which have been slated for replacement for several years as they are more than 70 years old. These new units will be transitory for CAF members going to CFB Esquimalt for courses or training and will not be available to military members posted to Esquimalt or their families.

Some housing plan that isā€¦

Why would the Liberal Defence Minister claim to be addressing the housing crisis for Military members by misleading Canadian Armed Forces Members and all Canadians about building upgrades planned years ago? This project is supposed to take 10 years and $165 million dollars while Military families still visit food banks to make ends meet, and thereā€™s soldiers even living in their cars. After 9 years it is clear that the Trudeau government is not worth the cost.
