🎶 ARTIST HIGHLIGHT: I AM THE MOUNTAIN

What started as late-night, campfire-inspired songs from singer-songwriter Colton O’Reilly has grown into a full ensemble heard across Calgary’s bars, festivals, and stages. I Am The Mountain blends rock, jazz, soul, and folk into a sound that is raw, dynamic, and made to be felt live.

Their 2023 direct-to-vinyl record Where You’re Coming From captures the band performing every song in a single take, while their latest release, DOT, marks a new chapter in their sound.

✨ A brighter Beltline, one project at a time.

Through our Beltline BIA Community Improvement Grant Matching Programme, local businesses can bring ideas to life that strengthen their storefronts while contributing to a more welcoming and connected neighbourhood.

One of this year’s successful projects is Bud Bar on 806 12 Ave SW, who installed permanent programmable LED lighting on their storefront. The system can be customized with colours, patterns, and animations to celebrate local events, holidays, community initiatives, and more—bringing a little extra energy and vibrancy to the Beltline all year long. 💡

We’re excited to collaborate and see projects like this enhance the streetscape and create a more engaging experience for everyone who lives, works, and visits the neighbourhood.

Thinking about improving your business? Applications for the 2027 BLOX Community Improvement Grant Matching Programme are expected to open in January, and we’re working to expand the range of eligible improvement projects.
