Freemasonry Masters Wardens Deacons Association Calgary, Canada

Freemasonry Masters Wardens Deacons Association Calgary, Canada We present two work shops yearly, a half day in the spring and a full day in the fall, we make available many on-site Presentations.

The Masters, Wardens, and Deacons Association of Calgary and Area (MWD) exists as an education and research support for lodges and a forum for open discussion among lodge officers in the Calgary area. We are sanctioned by the Grand Lodge of Alberta; the purpose of the forum is to help educate, support, and sustain the Craft by discussing common interests, providing resources, and making recommenda

tions. MWD is not just for Lodge Officers. On the contrary, all interested Masons are welcome to attend our meetings. Meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month.

“At the first MWD workshop I attended, the question was asked: “Why do you attend lodge meetings?” My somewhat flippant reply was “So that I can get out of the house once a month.” This was a time when lodges were more interested in being degree mills and there was no education program in a regular meeting. However, after making some changes that were suggested at the workshop, and integrating more education into our regular meetings, my response is now: ‘So that I can learn something once a month.’ My thanks to MWD for helping make our meetings, and masonry in general, more interesting.”
