We were deeply touched by these heartfelt stories of courage, sacrifice, service, and remembrance. Each note is a powerful reminder of the personal stories behind those who served—and of the families and communities who carried their sacrifices forward. We will remember them with gratitude, respect, and love.

Some of the Alton responses:
•My grandfather, lost at sea, north Atlantic Convoys Merchant Navy 1942
•Thank you to the people who found my great uncle who was MIA & injured during WW2. He was brought home to recover.❤️
•100 years of remembering the Men & Women who served and sacrificed.
•My mother was a Canadian Bomb Girl! 💕💕💕
•My Dad turned 21 on the shores of France. Shot & taken P.O.W but returned safely home.
•Private John….., in WW2 served with the Lorne Scots Regiment from April 23, 1941 to Sept 18, 1945. During that 4.5 years service, he helped keep this great country of Canada, glorious & free. Much loved by his family.

We remember. Celebrating 100 years of The Royal Canadian Legion. Drop in at the Legion and leave a message remembering those who have fought for our freedom. All messages will then be sent to Ottawa where they will be creatively incorporated into artistic renditions of Canadian Veterans to be displayed in public and shared online later this year. The booklet will be there until August 16th, forwarded on to Ottawa to join the thousands of other messages being recorded.♥

The Canadian Legion recently celebrated their 100th Anniversary. Legion Branches provide one of the largest volunteer bases in the country. With 1,350 Branches from coast to coast to coast, our members provide local services and supports to build a stronger Canada. Whether helping local Veterans, supporting seniors, providing youth sports programs, raising funds, volunteering to help those in need, or simply offering a place to gather for fun and celebration, we are your neighbors. Thank you to those who helped us celebrate on July 17th and to Tonya and her crew for organizing.

June 20th, Caledon celebrated Caledon Day at the Caledon East Complex. Alton Legion was there handing out stickers to the kids and FREE Memberships to the public. Our President (Larry) took the stage with Caledon Dignitaries to receive our Recognition Certificate. Thanks to Brittany and her team for manning the tent for the day.
