The Water St. Docks are where you can find those beautiful big blue and orange spill response vessels! Want to learn more about them? Our friends at Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) are inviting the public to view the vessels up close and learn more about the great work they do protecting our region.

WCMRC will be at the Marine Careers Expo in Prince Rupert this Sunday!

Date: Sunday, June 14th
Location: Cow Bay Marina, Prince Rupert, B.C.
Time: 11:00am to 3:00pm

The Marine Careers Expo is a national initiative that brings together Government of Canada organizations, marine employers, and educational institutions to connect with communities across Canada. Hosted in partnership with the Royal Canadian Navy, Imagine Marine, and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Expo features interactive exhibits, in-person engagement with marine professionals, and opportunities to explore careers on the water. Visitors can take part in hands-on activities, speak directly with industry representatives, and enjoy vessel tours.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 21st, WCMRC will be conducting an emergency preparedness training exercise in Prince Rupert alongside the Canadian Coast Guard, Prince Rupert Port Authority, and Environment and Climate Change Canada.

This is a planned drill to ensure our teams and equipment remain prepared to respond effectively to an incident.

During the training, you may see spill response vessels operating in the harbour, but there is no actual spill or cause for concern.
