Ava is a Jamaican-born artist and creative entrepreneur whose love for art has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember. Through her creative work as Ava The lllustrator, she continues to explore her passion for painting and bringing ideas to life through art.

Ava believes evervone has a creative side, and she's looking forward to sharing her love of painting in a relaxed setting where everyone can enjoy the experience, regardless of their skill level.

You will be guided through the evening as you paint your version of this still life painting.

Event: Paint & Patties
Date: Thursday November 19
Time: 7-9 pm
Venue: Collingwood, ON

Investment: $45+HST
Includes: painting supplies, patty a drink, expertise of the artist, and the experience.

Making Change is excited to renew its partnership with MacLaren Art Centre , to offer a special art program geared to creative youth across Simcoe County!

In recognition of Black History Month, Black youth ages 13 to 18 are invited to participate in a series of workshops to create a unique work of art, under the guidance of an artist mentor, Toronto-based Ashante Blackwood Ashante Blackwood.

Admission: FREE, materials provided by the MacLaren Art Centre & Making Change.
Max Capacity: 20 youth participants
Ages: 13 to 18 years old
Artist Mentor: Ashante Blackwood

Recently, Worsley Elementary School visited the Sheffield Black History museum.

Making Change sponsored this event through our Art Engagement Project as the students learned about our local Black History.

This initiative is supported by United Way Simcoe Muskoka United Way Simcoe Muskoka, Wasaga Society For The Arts Wasaga Society for the Arts and the Simcoe County School Board SCDSB.

What's equally great is the students will work with our anti-racism presenter and then create a quilt-inspired art project with one of our local Black artists.

The children are the future, and local Black History needs to be taught and understood.
