Don’t miss out on our end-of-summer Black Coffee event Saturday, September 12th, at the Sheffield Black History & Cultural Museum (just north/west of Collingwood), at 241 Clark St, Clarksburg, ON.

We are providing drinks for a donation for our upcoming 2027 programs serving Black communities throughout Simcoe County.

We'll have creative hot, cold, decaf, and other beverages to suit everyone, rain or shine.

Come learn a bit of Canadian history, meet some community members and the family behind the historic Black History & Cultural Museum.

Change doesn’t only happen in boardrooms or classrooms; it happens in everyday moments.

In conversations. In choices. In courage. In the way we show up for each other.

This fall, we’re launching I Am Making Change, a community-powered campaign where YOU film yourself doing something that makes a difference.

Big or small. Quiet or loud. Personal or public.

Record your moment. Share your story. Tag us.

You are Making Change; show the world.

Emancipation Day reminds us that freedom in Canada wasn’t a moment; it was a beginning. On August 1, 1834, slavery was abolished across the British Empire, including right here in Ontario. But the work of liberation, justice, and belonging continues with every generation.

At Making Change, we honour the ancestors who fought for freedom, and we commit to building communities where Black voices, stories, and futures are seen, valued, and protected.

Today is a celebration.
Today is a reminder.
Today is a call to keep going.

If you believe in this work, in education, representation, and community building, we invite you to walk with us.
