Everyone that meets Rose can clearly see how nice and well-behaved she is. She is just a happy puppy that wants to play all the time. In June of 2021, I was biking with Rose in my neighbourhood and a person ran a stop sign nearly hitting myself and Rose. I swerved to avoid the vehicle and ended up dropping my bike and breaking my leg. The driver stopped, rolled down his window, yelled a derogatory
term out the window, and drove off. I currently have a pending personal injury lawsuit with the individual. Fast forward a year to March of 2022. Rose and I regularly walk the neighbourhood and while walking past this individual's house, I noticed a by-law parking violation. I submitted an anonymous complaint to the City By-Law Department for them to assess the situation themselves. A few weeks later, Rosalina and I were out for our regular morning walk when we ended up in an encounter with the same individual while they were putting out their garbage. He began to verbally harass me as we were passing by and stated that he has friends at the City By-Law Department that told him it was me that lodged the complaint about his driveway/parking violation. This altercation ended with the individual verbally threatening Rosalina and me! Rose and I quickly finished our walk and drove to work where she comes with me three times a week. A few days later, I was approached by the City By-Law Officers, stating that Rose is under investigation for biting the same individual that had just verbally harassed and threatened us. The Officers met and were petting Rose. and although they were very comfortable around her and saw no danger, this has now been escalated further. Rose is going on trial for something that she did not do and has the potential to be put down if not found innocent. In the meantime, while we are waiting for a trial date (which could be months out), Rosalina needs to be fully muzzled when she is outside of my dwelling or not in a confined space! I understand that the City By-Law Department has due diligence in the matter, but can't help but wonder if this treatment and extreme measures have something to do with the fact that this individual knows someone within the City's By-Law Department. I am in disbelief that someone would stoop so low as to bring harm to an innocent, sweet dog based on a personal vendetta. He went so far as to stab or cut himself to fabricated evidence in support of his claim. Further, conveniently for him, the video camera mounted on his garage that captured the whole altercation, was "out of memory" for this specific time and so the recording was not saved, according to this individual and as told to me from the by-law officers. I am kindly asking all friends, neighbours, co-workers, clients, or the general public that has ever met Rose to help me raise funds to hire a lawyer in Rosalina's defense. I also encourage those that have had any interactions with Rose to leave a comment on her character. Thank you for your help!
