H.S. St. Amant & Sons
Serving the Penetanguishene Area Since 1875
The evolution/transformation from blacksmithing to mechanical
contracting.
Etienne Steven Andre St. Amant originally operated a blacksmith shop setting up his business on Robert Street. His business evolved through the years into a plumbing and hardware store and his son Henri St. Amant became a plumbing contractor. It was Henri who in 1875, founded H.S. St. Amant Inc adjacent to the old blacksmith property and worked with 4 of his 5 sons as master plumbers. Passing away in 1953, his sons Oswald, Gerard, Bernard, and Lawrence carried on his legacy.
Now the fourth generation of direct descendants of the founders, with company president Kevin alongside fellow owners Joseph, Marty, Susan, Keith, Marc and Chris (deceased) offer a list of Red Seal journeyman services (plumbing, steamfitters, gas technicians, sheet metal and HVAC)
Proud to be the longest running family operated business in the Town of Penetanguishene, St. Amant’s has grown to a dedicated staff of 22, with 3 of the 5th generation (Bryan, Austin, Colin) on board. The owners credit their longevity to resilience and stewardship in providing specialized services to meet the ever changing demands of current times.
A grand celebration to honour St Amant & Sons, held on Friday June 5th , featured over 130 family, friends, staff, clients and business associates bringing well-deserved congratulations to this worthy Penetanguishene business.
