What a wonderful evening celebrating the 58th Charter Anniversary of Werribee Rotary! 🎉

The night was filled with so many wonderful memories, stories and friendships, and it was especially fantastic to have two of our charter members present to share in this very special occasion.

Werribee Rotary extends its sincere thanks to Grace from Helping Hampers Point Cook for attending our recent meeting and sharing the wonderful work the organisation is doing to support local families in need.

Werribee Rotary extends its sincere thanks to our guest speaker, Leading Senior Constable Rodan Smith, for his informative and engaging presentation on combating youth crime in Werribee.

Leading Senior Constable Smith provided valuable insights into the challenges facing our community and the collaborative efforts being undertaken by Victoria Police, local organisations, schools, and residents to help prevent youth offending and improve community safety. His presentation sparked thoughtful discussion and highlighted the importance of early intervention, community partnerships, and supporting young people to make positive choices.

We greatly appreciate Leading Senior Constable Smith taking the time to share his knowledge and experience with our members and guests.

Dear Community Leaders,
The Rotary Club of Werribee is pleased to announce the commencement of our 2026 Community Grants Program, opening 1st August 2026. We invite eligible community groups and organisations within the Wyndham municipality to apply for funding of up to $3,000 to support projects that promote social wellbeing, community development, and alignment with Rotary’s values.
The Community Grants Program is designed to assist local organisations in delivering initiatives that benefit the broader community. Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate innovation, sustainability, and a strong community impact in areas such as:
• Youth engagement and development
• Mental health and wellbeing
• Environmental sustainability
• Indigenous support
• Literacy and education
• Homelessness and housing support
• Inclusion and diversity
Key Information:
• Applications Opened: August 1, 2026
• Applications Close: September 30, 2026
• Maximum Grant Available: 10 x $3,000 per organisation
• Eligibility: Organisations must operate within the Wyndham City Council region and hold appropriate registration or not-for-profit status
• Grant Announcements: 22nd October 2026
• Presentation Ceremony: TBA November 2026

What an amazing initiative Story Dogs is! 🐶📚

The Young Scientist Competition of Victoria is an open invitation to schools across the state to identify, nurture, and celebrate outstanding young talent in science, technology, engineering, and innovation. The competition provides a platform for students to present original ideas, inventions, and scientific solutions that address real-world challenges and contribute to a better future for Victoria.

Students from age 13 to 18 enrolled in Victorian schools are eligible to participate, either individually or in teams of two. Through school-supported participation, students engage with local and statewide issues, investigate them using scientific methods, collaborate creatively, and develop practical and innovative solutions that benefit their communities.

The competition aims to ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and strengthen scientific literacy among young people across Victoria. It encourages students to adopt problem-solving approaches that integrate creativity, innovation, and sustainability, while building confidence in communicating scientific ideas clearly and responsibly.
