Wonderful to have District Governor Graeme Hope and his wife Sue joining members and friends at Wyndham Rotary. DG Graeme shared his goals for the year of creating lasting change. With a hat as part of our attire for the night we celebrated the work of Australian Rotary Health as we lifted the lid on mental health. ARH provides funds for research with a focus on mental illness in children up to 12 years.

One of the great benefits of Wyndham Rotary is the fabulous speakers we have to inform and educate us. Thanks to James Pieters from the Werribee Police we learnt about the practical care we need to take as we drive towards an aging life style. We learnt that large number of accidents are caused by aging drivers. I guess we all sat there and thought that was not us, but you never know.
Then we heard from David Turnbull who is a Mental Health Consultant working for the Flying Doctor service. He explained his role including his motivation born from family experiences. He is a supporter of change and best practice. He certainly lives out the Rotary value of service with amazing compassion.

Just a leisurely day at WERN{Western Emergency Relief Network}. Lots of furniture collected, with thanks, sorted and delivered to families who have very little. Imagine the grateful delight on the face of a child who now has a bed! Imagine the relief when a refrigerator and a washing machine is delivered! A very happy and memorable Fathers Day! Thanks to Wyndham Rotarians and friends you have made a difference!

Early start for some Wyndham Rotarians as we cleared a child care centre. Recycling at its best! Tables, chairs, toys, office furniture, children’s games, books, electrical goods, nappies and the list goes on. Down to Donations in Kind, sorted and sent to child based organisations to help a child learn and a family receive much needed supplies.

Breakfast Club at Wyndham Park Primary is always a special occasion. Wyndham Rotary members and friends provide breakfast for over 100 students every Monday. What’s not to love about cheese toasties or toast with honey, strawberry jam or all time favourite Vegemite! Washed down with creamy milk, add an Apple and life is good!
The perfect way to start a day of learning.
