Our Supported Playgroups recently wrapped up the third term with a wonderful celebration filled with delicious food, festivities and opportunities for families to connect. These gatherings are a lovely way for parents and children to celebrate their culture, strengthen community connections and build friendships in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Today, we’re pleased to welcome a new group of Certificate III in Individual Support students to our Werribee Campus!

Our students are eager to learn, grow and begin their new journey with New Futures Training. We’re excited to support them as they build their skills and take the next step towards a rewarding career in the community and care sector.

It’s been a busy school holiday period for our teams, with staff across VICSEG New Futures coming together for professional development and training.

Recently, our Northern Community Programs team held a professional development session at our Craigieburn Campus for our playgroup educators. The session was led by Tracy Douglas, Project Lead – Multicultural and First Nations at Continence Health Australia, focusing on continence health and supporting children and families.

Our educators actively participated throughout the session, making it a valuable opportunity to learn, share knowledge and strengthen the support we provide to our communities.

A big thank you to all our teams for their enthusiasm and commitment to learning during this busy training period!

Last Friday, our Werribee Certificate III in Health Services Assistance students reached the end of their theory component and took part in their final pre-placement preparation session.

Chamodi, our Placement Manager, joined the class to prepare students for their upcoming placement block, covering important topics including orientation, employer expectations, uniforms, professional behaviour and what to expect while on placement.

Students will gain valuable hands-on experience at residential aged care facilities and building on the skills they’ve developed throughout their course.

Our students are excited to take this next step and put their learning into practice. We wish them all the best for their placement!

Yesterday, our Werribee Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care students welcomed the team from Amiga Early Learning to the classroom.

Unnati, Tarneit Amiga Montessori Centre Director and Area Manager; Radhi, Point Cook Amiga Centre Manager; and Louisa from the Amiga Recruitment Team joined the class to connect with students and share insights into industry expectations, career pathways and employment opportunities.

These industry connections give our students valuable insight into the sector and help build relationships as they take the next step towards a career in early childhood education and care.
