What started out a few kids has turned out to be an extremely successful ever growing venture. Wonderful work by Matthew and his wife helping their community and also now the broader community. It recognises the contribution of millions of volunteers across the country and invites everyone to discover how giving their time and talents can create connection, purpose, and stronger communities.Research reveals that volunteering also benefits by reducing symptoms of depression, improving self-reported health and lowering mortality.
Volunteering Statistics –General Social Survey 2025 According to the latest Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS):
9.5 million people volunteered in in 2025 in either formal or informal volunteering or both. This is equivalent to 42.8% of the Australian population over 15 years of age.
