A powerful and important conversation today. ❤️

It was an honour for Sara Hollis to speak on behalf of Time is Precious at Medtronic ANZ webinar and in-person presentation, sharing our story and shining a light on the growing issue of early-onset bowel cancer. And alongside the incredible Dr. Penelope De Lacavalerie FRACS MBBS CSSANZ who shares her expert medical knowledge.

Sara spoke about why we started TIP, the devastating impact bowel cancer can have on families, and most importantly, that early detection and awareness can save lives.

Thank you to Medtronic for creating space for this important conversation and for giving us the opportunity to share Rob’s story and our mission with such an engaged audience.

Bowel cancer doesn’t discriminate by age. Know the signs. Listen to your body. Don’t wait!

Today, advocates from across Australia are walking the halls of Parliament House as part of Bowel Cancer Australia’s Call on Canberra.

While we’re cheering from Sydney this year, our hearts are very much in Canberra.

Over the years, Time is Precious has proudly stood alongside patients, survivors, carers and advocates, sharing stories, meeting with decision-makers and pushing for change. We’ve seen firsthand the power of people coming together to ensure bowel cancer remains a national priority.

These conversations matter. They help drive awareness, improve access to screening and treatment, and amplify the voices of those impacted by a disease that continues to take far too many lives.

We are incredibly proud of everyone representing the bowel cancer community today. Thank you for sharing your stories, your courage and your time to create a better future for others.

To every advocate in Canberra today – we’re with you in spirit. 🧡🍎

For years, Time is Precious has been powered by the generosity of our community. What started as a tribute to Rob and a mission to raise awareness of bowel cancer has grown into a movement that has raised more than $250,000.

On Red Apple Day, we’re reminded that awareness saves lives. Today, we had the privilege of sharing that message with the next generation.🍎❤️

Today we spent the day with an incredible group of students from Barker College , and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

Today is Red Apple Day – the national giving day for Bowel Cancer Australia dedicated to raising awareness and funds for Australians impacted by bowel cancer.

As a small volunteer-run charity, Time is Precious exists because of community. Every event, fundraiser and awareness campaign is powered by people who choose to give their time, skills and energy to something bigger than themselves.

Over the coming months, Barker students will be working alongside us to help bring our Spring Fair to life, exploring ideas across sponsorship, fundraising, marketing, community engagement and event delivery.

A few weeks ago, we walked through the Wahroonga Rugby Club and couldn’t help but feel the weight of every memory made here.

That’s why we’re so excited to be bringing our community back together here for the Time is Precious Spring Fair.

Expect an afternoon filled with:
🍔 Food trucks
🎶 Live music and entertainment
🎨 Kids’ activities and face painting
🎟️ Raffles and fundraising
🍸 The return of our Time is Precious Gin
❤️ A community coming together to support those affected by bowel cancer

We’ve swapped the ballroom for the oval, but our mission remains the same. Every dollar raised helps fund vital bowel cancer awareness and advocacy through Bowel Cancer Australia , because bowel cancer remains the number one cancer killer of young Australians aged 25–44.

And a little favour from us... we’re still building this event and we need your help. If you’re a local business interested in sponsorship, donating goods or services, supporting an activity, or helping us bring the day to life, we’d love to hear from you. Community support is what makes events like this possible.
