In , more than 650,000 children are waiting for something many take for granted: a safe classroom.

Eight-year-old Hiba* never went to school. Her older sister died in the conflict in Gaza. After a temporary classroom opened in her area, for the first time she stepped into a classroom, withdrawn and often crying.

With caring teachers, play, and emotional support, Hiba began to recover. Today, she’s smiling again, making friends, and building the confidence to sing and dance on stage.

🌏 One year ago a 7.7 magnitude earthquake hit central Myanmar, leaving thousands of children without homes, schools or safe spaces.

Our teams on the ground responded immediately, delivering critical supplies including water, hygiene kits and school kits. They also created temporary safe spaces where children could play, study and reconnect with their communities.

One year on, the recovery is still ongoing, but today children are back in classrooms, building routines and enjoying time with friends.
