This morning at 1121 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision in Taree.

Operators arrived one scene to find one vehicle has collided with another before rolling onto its side. Operators stabilised the vehicle before performing a side roof flap to release the single occupant into the care of NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

This morning at 0627 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to an incident at Wingham train station.

Operators arrived on scene to find a freight train has collided with a person on the tracks. Sadly, that person is deceased. Operators will remain on scene whilst NSW Police conduct an investigation.

This morning at 1008 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on Nowendoc Road, Killawarra.

Operators arrived on scene to find two vehicles had collided with one vehicle coming to rest down an embankment with the single occupant trapped. Operators worked to remove the side of the vehicle before a belay system was created to extricate the patient.

The public should be advised that the road in this area may remain closed whilst Police conduct an investigation.

Today at 1314 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on Wingham Road, Kolodong.

Emergency services arrived on scene to find a single vehicle has left the road before traveling down an embankment and colliding with a tree. The single occupant has self extricated with assistance from members of the public prior to the arrival of emergency services. NSW Ambulance Paramedics stabilised the patient prior to extrication where the patient was transported via road for further treatment.

This morning at 0511 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to assist NSW Police with a crime scene.

Operators remained on scene until 1520 hours providing assistance with scene preservation.

Members of the public with information are encouraged to call crime stoppers on 1300 333 000.

Today at 1049 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on the Pacific Highway at Boolambayte.

Initial reports indicated that a heavy vehicle had left the roadway trapping the driver. Operators responded our medium and heavy rescue to this incident with police arriving on scene to find the driver has self extricated. Following confirmation that no persons were trapped our resources took a stop and returned.

This morning at 0853 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on the Pacific Highway, Jones Island.

Operators arrived on scene to find a heavy vehicle has left the roadway before rolling down an embankment. Luckily, the two occupants self-extricated prior to the arrival of emergency services.

Early this week operators From Taree Rescue Squad headed north to boost operational numbers in the region.

This morning whilst returning to Taree from Casino, operators were tasked to a land search in Talarm, Nambucca Valley.

Under the direction of NSW Police Rescue, operators conducted an extensive land search through steep, dense and challenging terrain for a person last seen on a local property. VRA Rescue operators worked alongside several NSW RFS RAFT crew throughout the operation. Unfortunately, at the conclusion of today’s tasking, the missing person had not been located with search efforts set to continue tomorrow.

Operators from Taree Rescue Squad remain prepared to assist across the state and deploy resources when required to help achieve the best possible outcomes for the community. In recent months, this has included an increase in operations beyond our usual response area.

Not everyone is cut out for rescue.

It means early mornings, late nights, tough jobs, real responsibility and real commitment. But if you’re the kind of person who steps up instead of standing back — we want to hear from you.

Full training provided. Real skills. Real impact in our community.

We’re looking for people with regular availability each week (essential Tuesday night training) and must reside within Taree - Preferably within five minutes of our squad!

Today at 1105 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to assist NSW Ambulance with the retrieval of a patient following a fall at Newbys Caves, Lansdowne Forest.

Operators arrived on scene to find a patient has slipped and fell injuring her ankle. The patient and friends she was walking with have created a splint and stabilised the limb prior to our arrival. Operators provided an initial patient assessment before the arrival of NSW Ambulance Paramedics who provided the patient with pain relief before we utilised a Terra Tamer litter wheel to extricate the patient.
