This morning at 0853 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on the Pacific Highway, Jones Island.

Operators arrived on scene to find a heavy vehicle has left the roadway before rolling down an embankment. Luckily, the two occupants self-extricated prior to the arrival of emergency services.

Early this week operators From Taree Rescue Squad headed north to boost operational numbers in the region.

This morning whilst returning to Taree from Casino, operators were tasked to a land search in Talarm, Nambucca Valley.

Under the direction of NSW Police Rescue, operators conducted an extensive land search through steep, dense and challenging terrain for a person last seen on a local property. VRA Rescue operators worked alongside several NSW RFS RAFT crew throughout the operation. Unfortunately, at the conclusion of today’s tasking, the missing person had not been located with search efforts set to continue tomorrow.

Operators from Taree Rescue Squad remain prepared to assist across the state and deploy resources when required to help achieve the best possible outcomes for the community. In recent months, this has included an increase in operations beyond our usual response area.

VRA Rescue NSW is now recruiting volunteer Rescue Operators in TAREE.

Not everyone is cut out for rescue.

It means early mornings, late nights, tough jobs, real responsibility and real commitment. But if you’re the kind of person who steps up instead of standing back — we want to hear from you.

Full training provided. Real skills. Real impact in our community.

We’re looking for people with regular availability each week (essential Tuesday night training) and must reside within Taree - Preferably within five minutes of our squad!

Today at 1105 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to assist NSW Ambulance with the retrieval of a patient following a fall at Newbys Caves, Lansdowne Forest.

Operators arrived on scene to find a patient has slipped and fell injuring her ankle. The patient and friends she was walking with have created a splint and stabilised the limb prior to our arrival. Operators provided an initial patient assessment before the arrival of NSW Ambulance Paramedics who provided the patient with pain relief before we utilised a Terra Tamer litter wheel to extricate the patient.

Last night at 1907 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on Waterman Street, Old Bar.

Operators responded to reports of persons trapped with our first resource on scene within 5 minutes. Operators found a vehicle has collided with a parked vehicle causing it to roll over. The single occupant was able to self extricate with assistance from emergency services before they were assessed by NSW Ambulance Paramedics.

This morning at 0917 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on Main Street, Cundletown.

Operators responded to reports of persons trapped following two vehicles colliding. NSW Ambulance Paramedics assisted one person from their vehicle who was conveyed for further treatment.

This morning at 0001 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on Waang Djarii Way, Kiwarrak with reports of a person trapped.

Operators arrived on scene to find a NSW Police vehicle and a second vehicle have collided. All persons have been extricated from their vehicles prior to our arrival by emergency services with a number treated for a range of injuries. Operators remained on scene until this morning to provide assistance whilst NSW Police performed an investigation into the incident.

This morning at 0629 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to a motor vehicle collision on the Pacific Highway, Wang Wauk.

Operators responded south with reports of a heavy vehicle leaving the road and trapping a driver. On route our team received a stop message following details of no persons trapped.

Today at 1228 hours Taree Rescue Squad was activated to the Pacific Highway, Koorainghat after reports of a motor vehicle collision.

Operators arrived on scene to find a single vehicle has left the road before coming to rest on its side. Initial contact has found no persons with the vehicle. Following Police investigation the driver has been located at a home address uninjured.
