I'm back from holiday and I've scheduled all of the wonderful images I have from Tony Piper Photography! They will be posted each night on Facebook and Instagram at 6pm, starting tomorrow (30th October) up to, and including, 11th November.

EVENT TWO is coming! Registrations open in two weeks time for our second event of the season which will be on Sunday 22nd November.

Set those alarms for registration!

Who can believe that was the first event since October 2025 (thanks to storms and ocean conditions last season!)?!

Thanks to the 155 volunteers and 41 participants and their carers for a wonderful morning!

Remember to tag us in to your posts and stories so we can share them, and keep an eye out for photos soon. We'll post when they are ready to appear online.

Next event is 22nd November, registration opens 8th November at 10am.

Check in between 730 and 830am. Look for the Disabled Surfers Association tents to check in, grab your rashie, then either head to your nominated tent (surfers), or wait on the grassy area for team briefing (volunteers). We'll be in the water.around 845am 😊

VOLUNTEERS - at the time of posting this, you have just 24 hours left to register!

We close registration at 6pm the night before an event so we can put everything in to place for the morning :) And yes, it shuts at 6pm sharp as it's automatic ;)

If you can no longer attend or you are sick, or awaiting a test result for any kind of viral or bacterial sickness - please cancel and stay away. We want you to look after yourself, and we want to look after any of our immunocompromised community too :) The sooner you let us know, the more likely it is we can fill your place.

Whether you are joining us for the first time, or have been with us before - a reminder of the process on the morning of the event!

Check in is open from 730 (you will have already registered, we just need to check you in), we will do briefings starting 830, and surfing will start right after that.

Location is Ballinger Beach, Currimundi - we have some reserved parking for surfers and their families but for everyone else it's first come, first served in the area!

Bring your sunscreen and hat, we will provide you with a rashie to wear:
- Green = beach marshals who will look after the surfing teams on the beach and communicate with our red shirt team leaders
- Red = team leaders who will look after the teams in the water
- Blue = the majority of our volunteers in the water
- Yellow = our surfing participants
- Grey = parents / carers of participants

And then we will see you for the sausage sizzle afterwards!

Are you free to join us as a volunteer on 11th October from 8 until 1130? Each event requires a minimum of around 130 volunteers to make it happen - so we need YOU. We might be biased, but we definitely have one of the best events for volunteering on the coast ;) No surfing experience is necessary, you just need to be over 12, able to take instruction independently, and confident in water!
