Sunshine Coast Basket Brigade The Basket Brigade is a 100% volunteer “not for Profit” organisation that runs an annual campaign to pack and deliver Christmas hampers to families in need

Each year, hundreds of teams of volunteers feed more than 2 million people in 400 cities, across 74 countries annually. We currently have ten Basket Brigade teams across Australia who help thousands of people every Christmas with food and toys. Throughout the holiday season Basket Brigade volunteers deliver food, clothing, and hope to those who need it most. While the recipients receive much neede

d food and gifts, all of our volunteers also receive a gift - the joy of selfless giving! The Basket Brigades are run totally by volunteers - people like yourself who care about making a difference in the lives of others. The Basket Brigade works with local community organisations that support families on a regular basis to assist those that are truly in need. By working with these groups we are able to help their organisation to provide services that they would otherwise struggle to deliver. Through these associations we also get a good understanding of those who need our help the most. The Baskets are given anonymously - the only note they receive asks them to take care of themselves and if one day they find themselves in a position to help another then we encourage them to do so - the "pay it forward" concept. The Basket Brigade has no religious or political affiliations - anyone is welcome to donate to the cause - funds, products or services, or as a volunteer.

This Festive Season the Brisbane Basket Brigade is helping to feed families in need on the Sunshine Coast but we need your help.
The goal is to support 300 families on the Sunny Coast - with just 11% of baskets supported so far we need help to make this happen. It's really easy to do and something the whole family can get involved in. HELP US GET TO 100% by this SATURDAY - WORLD FOOD DAY!

Basket Buddies 2021

Although the Sunshine Coast Basket Brigade is not formally running this year, the Brisbane Basket Brigade is trying to help cover the needs of recipients on the coast BUT needs your help.

Please register for the BBB Basket Buddies program and select Family Basket for the Sunshine Coast. All baskets nominated for the Sunshine Coast will be delivered to Sunshine Coast families. We have a goal for 300 Family Baskets, however, we only have 21 pledged so far.

Please go to: https://drct-magicmoments.prod.supporterhub.net/events/brisbanebasketbrigade-basketbuddies-2021 and register your Basket Buddies pledge for the Sunshine Coast now and help us help 300 or more Sunshine Coast families this Christmas.

Unfortunately, the Sunshine Coast Basket Brigade (SCBB) will not be proceeding in 2021 in its current form due to the committee disbanding.

The Magic Moments Foundation would like to thank in particular Trish and Emma, the founders of the Basket Brigade on the Sunshine Coast, for their leadership, dedication and hard work as well as the efforts of many other Committee members and volunteers over the last 7 years who have made the Basket Brigade on the Sunshine Coast such a success.

The Magic Moments foundation invites anyone interested in re-establishing the SCBB either now or in the future to please reach out at to us at; [email protected], send a PM or comment on this post.

In the meantime, the Brisbane Basket Brigade (BBB) which has had a close relationship with SCBB will be extending its reach north to try and help out as many families as possible that need a hand this Christmas.

If you would like to assist with these efforts then you can by registering for BBB Basket Buddies, volunteering at the BBB Packing Weekend on 11 December (and then delivering baskets back to the Sunshine Coast) or volunteering on the BBB Committee and help coordinate the Sunshine Coast Program this year.
