Throwback to this time last week đź‘‹

Regional Organiser Josh Bourne was out on the road across the North West Corridor, catching up with members in Hughenden, Richmond, Cloncurry and Mount Isa.

There’s nothing better than getting out there, having a yarn with members and hearing firsthand what’s happening in their workplaces.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to catch up with Josh! đź’Ş

Today the RTBU received Brisbane City Council's revised bargaining package, including:

âś… Year 1 pay increase of at least $62 per week
âś… Increased Annual Leave Loading
âś… Improved Trauma Leave provisions
âś… Increased minimum payment for Broken Shifts
âś… A proposed 36.25-hour week with no loss of pay

While there are a number of positive improvements in the package, there are also concerns about the proposed reduced working week, which is currently being offered as a facilitative clause rather than a guaranteed entitlement.

Members are encouraged to check their email for EBA Update #7, read the full details carefully, and cast their vote.

This is your Agreement. This is your decision.

🚍 Bus Bargaining Update

Productive discussions were held with BCC last week on a number of RTBU claims.

Key topics included:
• CPI protection for Years 2 & 3
• Stronger Trauma Leave provisions
• Increased Broken Shift minimum payments
• An increase of Annual Leave Loading to 17.5%
• A new allowance for Bus Assistants
• The 36-hour week

We're meeting with BCC again tomorrow, where a revised wages package is expected to be presented, including the latest 36-hour week modelling.

Further updates will be provided once we've reviewed the proposal.

Meet Aidan Felton, Freight Operator at Callemondah, who has been elected unopposed as the Rail Operations Representative on Branch Council, taking up the role after the elections conclude.

Aidan is keen to step up, have a stronger voice for his workmates and help make sure members have the support and representation they deserve.

We’re excited to have Aidan on Branch Council and look forward to seeing the difference he makes!
