Today Executive President Jenny Thomas and Rail Vice President Andrew Somerville signed the new QR Station Operations Enterprise Agreement (EA). The Services Union has also signed the ASPT and Travel, Tourism and Other Employees EAs, bringing members covered by the three agreements one step closer to accessing back-pay and improved conditions including increased shift penalties!

Queensland Attorney General - Jarrod Bleijie has announced sweeping changes to Queensland’s workers’ compensation system that could make it harder for workers suffering psychological injuries to access the support they need.

Under the LNP’s proposed changes, workers would face a tougher test to prove their psychological injury was caused by their job.

📢 No Call from the City of Gold Coast

With the City of Gold Coast Certified Agreement expiring this Friday, members are still waiting to hear whether Council is prepared to genuinely negotiate. After cancelling last week's meeting and insisting its offer won't change, the future of negotiations remains unclear.

Yesterday, TSU members and officials joined thousands across the globe, standing in solidarity with the people of Palestine at the Global Day for Gaza. We also recognised the suffering of civilians in Lebanon and reaffirm the importance of protecting all innocent lives.

Human rights are universal. Our commitment is to human dignity, the protection of civilians and a future where all people can live in peace, safety and freedom. Human rights must be universal, without exception. 🇵🇸 🇱🇧

DVAC provides critical support for those impacted by domestic violence, from crisis intervention to advocacy. This is why our ‘Skilled, Respect, Equal’ campaign is so important—the work is becoming more complex, and we need to support workers just like the ones at DVAC.”
